Each child is unique and has their own distinct set of characteristics. Hues ATL, has your child’s best interest at heart and takes into consideration the broad aspect of personal traits and sensitivities of children with autism and other sensory processing diagnosis.
Hues ATL strives to accommodate children with hyper-sensory and hypo-sensory sensitivities. Throughout the center you will find dimmed lighting, deep pressure equipment, and sensory integrating activities. Sensory integration activities are included throughout the developmental play areas to encourage the discovery of activities during normal play.
The areas of sensory strengthening activities focus on tactile, visual, and auditory skills. Textures, animal and musical sounds, sounds of different pitches and tones, visually colorful objects, object identification boards and tasks, different hues of lights…
To help with noise sensitivity, noise cancelling headphones are available for purchase at Hues ATL, one size fits all infants and children.
We suggest that children with physical sensory sensitives wear clothing that accommodates their sensitivity; however, certain areas of the center have specific socks only or shoes required rules in place for the safety and well-being of all. We understand that some children have feet sensitivities, please notify a staff member if your child is unable to comply to the socks or shoes rule of specified areas.
